The FreeBIX network infrastructure

Our infrastructure is built throughout multiple independent locations in the Brussels region and extends up to the LCL, InterXion and AXS datacenters. In all these locations, colocation is possible.

Unlike other exchanges, FreeBIX is not based on a hub-spoke technology but uses Foundry Ring Protocol to create a loop-free ring that enables maximum throughput whilst minimising delay.

All nodes have at least 1 Gigabit Ethernet capacity between each other running on CWDM circuits or Dark Fiber. Users can connect to the FreeBIX infrastructure at all three facilities using Fast Ethernet (copper) or Gigabit Ethernet (fiber) interfaces.
