Quarantaine VLAN

The interface port of every new member on the FreeBIX platform will be placed in the quarantaine VLAN whilst the member configures and finetunes its routing equipment. When FreeBIX staff declares the configuration sound and stable, the member's port will be moved into the production peering VLAN.

In case a member misbehaves by sending other than the allowed traffic and thus potentially compromising the Internet Exchange stability and/or performance, his port will either be shut down or put in the Quarantaine VLAN until the offending member clears out his configuration. Repeated violations of the allowed traffic rules can warrant the disconnection of the offending member.
