FreeBIX announces the new organisation

After 6 months of preparation, FreeBIX, the Free Belgian Internet Exchange, is open for business; providing Internet and Managed Service Providers with the tools and platform to create a better and more stable Internet.

Brussels, August 16, 2010: FreeBIX, the non-profit Internet Exchange Point (IXP) created and operating since 2003, has been fully restructured with a new Executive Board that will manage the organisation's long-term strategy towards the Belgian Internet and Managed Service Provider communities.

The organisation is designed to respond to the unique needs of providers who are increasingly responsible for the traffic being exchanged between providers, to create a better and more stable Internet.

All the services have been enhanced with a strong Service Level Agreement and are managed by strict process driven management policies and procedures.

We turn our member network into a knowledge platform for our members and their peers. It's all managed with the utmost care for our members' high-technical demands. FreeBIX is a 24/7-maintained and supported platform, with a member-area with specific tools for provisioning and reporting.
